Why become a member? Here are 8 good reasons!
1. Resources & Room Bookings – Up to a third off
We offer preferential membership rates for hiring rooms for meetings or training; equipment hire (eg. laptops, projectors, camcorder, etc.); and for use of a photocopier.
2. Free ‘Hot Desking’ Facilities
We offer access to hot desking facilities in our Hampstead Road office. These facilities are free to our members and include access to a fully-equipped desk, computer, and use of the internet.
3. Training – Up to 50% off Training Fees
Much of our training is free, or very low cost. We keep our charges as low as we can to make our training as accessible as possible, but where there are charges, these are significantly reduced for members.
4. Consultancy – Up to 5 Hours Free Consultancy Support
Though we offer free advice and support on a wide range of issues, many groups approach us for more in-depth consultancy support – for instance to develop a business plan, or tender for a contract. Our consultancy support is chargeable at £40 a hour, but members can get the first 5 hours free.
5. Events – Reduced Rates for Attending Our Events
Most of our events are free to voluntary and community groups in the borough but sometimes our funding requires that we raise a small charge. This is always reduced for our members.
6. Staying Up to Date
As a member you’ll be on our mailing list for the latest news and updates in your area of interest, invitations to events, etc. Being on our membership database also means (if you give your permission) that we can share information about your work with others who might have an interest in what you do.
7. Joining with us to Create a Stronger Sector ‘Voice’
We are often approached to canvas the views of our members on important policy and strategic issues at both a local and national level, or with requests to participate in new research or consultation projects. Being a member gives you the opportunity to take part in this work and have your voice heard.
8. Best of All – it only costs £2 a month!
For £24 a year, you can join VAC as a member. It’s easy to do. Simply fill in our membership form – available on request from our office or as a download (click here) – and make your payment, then we will send you all the information you need to make the most of being a VAC member.
