VAC is keen to support voluntary and community groups in Camden to address issues related to climate change.
Our strategic work in this area is shaped by our involvement with Camden’s multi-sector “Climate Change Alliance”. VAC is an active and founding member of the Alliance’s Advisory Board. VAC is also part of Green Camden, where Green groups can network together and keep in touch with the council’s sustainability team.
Camden Climate Change Alliance
The alliance has been formed by Camden Council and organisations in Camden that are committed to reducing their carbon dioxide emissions and tackling climate change. These organisations have made a public Climate Commitment, are of all sizes and from all sectors, and are working together to make a bigger difference in reducing their carbon dioxide (C02) emissions than they could otherwise do alone.
All member organisations will contribute to a joint carbon emissions reduction target of 20% by 2020. Membership of the Alliance is open to any Camden-based organisation. It is free, and no fees are charged for Alliance events and services. To find out more, visit the Alliance website at. www.camdencca.org
Green Camden
The Green Camden cluster on Project Dirt is an online social network and meeting place for Camden environmental groups. Groups involved in Camden green initiatives can keep up to date, network with each other and contact the council’s sustainability team. To find out more, visit the Camden cluster on www.projectdirt.com/cluster/camden/. You can follow Green Camden on facebook at www.facebook.com/grncamden.
