How do we know what difference we actually make with the funding we are given to deliver projects and services? Charities and other not-for-profit (NFP) organisations are coming under increasing pressure from the government, funders, the public and other stakeholders to demonstrate impact and provide evidence to show the difference the work makes in relation to the money invested.
Yet the terminology used in assessing impact is often confusing, especially for organisations that are new or lack experience in developing effective monitoring and evaluation frameworks. Outcomes, outputs, indicators, outcome / output measures etc. What does it all mean?
The following resources have been put together to help demystify what impact assessment is all about and how NFP’s can start implementing simple strategies and tools to measure and provide evidence in support of the work they do and the difference this makes to their beneficiaries and the wider community.
