The HS2 Camden Fund
The HS2 Camden Fund exists to support Camden communities during the construction of the high speed railway.
What will the Camden fund support?
The Camden Fund aims to strengthen the sense of place and alleviate the disruption of the development of HS2 Ltd. on local people by achieving one or more of the following aims:
1. A Happier and Healthier Camden
Projects that improve the physical and/or mental health and wellbeing and overall quality of life for communities. For example, projects that improve air quality, fitness/healthy lifestyles, mental health or greening.
2. A Better Connected Camden
Projects that facilitate new relationships/connections, improve social cohesion and overcome isolation. For example, social clubs, intergenerational activities, projects that celebrate diversity, community arts projects and opportunities for people to come together who don’t usually do so.
3. A Stronger Voluntary and Community Sector
Projects that improve resilience, enhance capacity or develop innovation within voluntary organisations and the community sector to support Aims 1 & 2 for years to come. For example, trialling new income streams, using tech to improve services, collaborative working, or increasing beneficiaries involvement in running your organisation.

GDPR: Latest guidance from ICO
With just 14 days to go to the implementation of GDPR, ICO have issued fresh guidelines on consent. Importantly they are now saying that organisations won’t need to “automatically repaper or refresh” existing old consents. You must “check your processes and records in detail to be sure existing consents meet the GDPR standard” buf if they do then it is not necessary to refresh an existing or old consent. ICO are also reminding organisations that there are other lawful basis for holding personal data other than consent. Consent is relevant for marketing situations but, for example, if you communicate with members then the lawful basis for holding their data is your contractual relationship with them.
The relevant lawful basis for processing personal data are:
~ consent of data subject
~ necessary for the performance of a contract or to take steps to enter into a contract with data subject e.g. employees
~ necessary for compliance with a legal obligation
~ necessary to protect the vital interests of a data subject or another person
Civil Society have covered the story here.
