Project Management Starter – (4 sessions)

This course runs every Wednesday from the 28th April – 19th May (4 sessions)

This is a preliminary course that is very popular with students as it enables them to become familiar with the theories and practice of project management.  It is ideal for those with limited practical experience in managing a project to prepare for the Association for Project Management Introductory Course.

Who is this course for

The aim of this short course is to enable students with limited practical experience of managing a project to become familiar with the theories and practice of project management. It is the ideal preparation for those wishing to gain the internationally recognised project management qualification – Introductory Certificate in Project Management – Association for Project Management

What does this course cover

  • What is a project?
  • What is ‘business as usual’?
  • What is a business case?
  • What is the project context?
  • What is a stakeholder?
  • Role of project manager; Role of project sponsor; Role project team member; Role of a user;
  • Team work;
  • Conflict Management;
  • What is project management?
  • What is a project management plan?
  • What are project lifecycles?

They are not covered to the same level as the Certificate course as this is a preliminary course.
Be familiar enough with the theories and practice of project management to enrol in the APM Introductory Certificate course.
