DESCRIPTION:Tuesday 21st October: 10am – 11.30am (Via Zoom)\nAre you responsibility for hiring or supervising new staff members or volunteers in your organisation or community group?\nIt is essential that all those with recruitment responsibilities understand how to keep children and young people safe when delivering services to under 25’s in Camden. \nThis introductory safer recruitment session will help organisations think about the current policies and practices they have in place and explore how to plan better and safer. \nAs well as support those responsible for recruitment\, we will consider the shortlisting\, pre-assessment\, and interview process. \nHow to evaluate if applicants share the same child protective attitudes and values your organisation does\, and how practices after recruitment are essential to safeguarding effectively. \nThe session will also cover:\n\nThe importance of safe recruitment in voluntary organisations.\nWhat to consider when preparing to recruit.\nSelecting the right people.\nSafeguarding and remaining vigilant.\n\nSo\, join us for a morning of safeguarding discussion\, protective cultures and policy review. \nNon-attendance:\n\nVAC kindly ask that if you book a place and are unable to attend on the day\, please arrange for a volunteer or another member of your organisation to attend in your place.\nAlternatively\, please email Ricky Singh Tokhi at: rsingh@vac.org.uk in advance and your place can be offered to another learner on our wating list.\nFailure to notify VAC of non-attendance in advance\, will result in your organisation / groups restriction to attend future training sessions.\nFor more information or questions regarding suitability of this training and upcoming events and workshops\, please email: Dianne Carlton-Ogunyemi at: dogunyemi@vac.org.uk\n\nBook your free place\nhttps://buytickets.at/voluntaryactioncamden/1884498
