SUMMARY:Face-to-face: Introduction to Safeguarding Children.
DESCRIPTION:Wednesday 15th October: 10am – 12.30pm. (In person)\nSafeguarding is everyone’s responsibility\, and we all play a part in helping keep children safe. \nIf you are thinking about working with under 25’s or volunteering with children and young people\, this session provides learners with essential safeguarding knowledge. \nWe discuss the common types of harm and how to recognise when something isn’t right\, as well what to do if you are concerned about a child or young person. \nSuitable for those with little or no child safeguarding knowledge or experience\, this introduction session will help you to feel confident in your safeguarding responsibilities. \nWith a combination of written text\, case studies and video presentations\, this workshop will cover:\n\nWhat is Safeguarding?\nTypes of abuse / recognising the signs.\nPassing on information\nSignposting and Support in Camden.\n\nSuitable for volunteers\, new starters and all those with little or no safeguarding training. \nNon-attendance:\n\nVAC kindly ask that if you book a place and are unable to attend on the day\, please arrange for a volunteer or another member of your organisation to attend in your place.\nAlternatively\, please email Ricky Singh Tokhi at: rsingh@vac.org.uk in advance and your place can be offered to another learner on our wating list.\nFailure to notify VAC of non-attendance in advance\, will result in your organisation / groups restriction to attend future training sessions.\nFor more information or questions regarding suitability of this training and upcoming events and workshops\, please email: Dianne Carlton-Ogunyemi at: dogunyemi@vac.org.uk\n\nBook your free place\nhttps://buytickets.at/voluntaryactioncamden/1846938
