DESCRIPTION:Wednesday 11th February: 10am – 12:30pm\nIntroduction to Safeguarding (Under 25’s)\nIn Person training: Crowndale Centre\, 218 Eversholt St\, NW1 1BD\nSafeguarding is everyone’s responsibility! \nEven if you don’t have direct contact with the children and young people in your organisation\, we all play a part in helping to keep children safe. \nIf you are a new group\, community organisation\, supplementary educational setting\, or volunteer thinking about working with children and young people; this session will provide you with the essential safeguarding knowledge required for a level 1 qualification equivalent. \nWe discuss the four common types of harm and how to recognise when something isn’t right\, as well what to do if you are concerned about a child or young person in your care. \nWith a combination of written text\, case studies and video presentations\, this introduction session will help you to feel confident in your safeguarding responsibilities. \nThis workshop will cover:\n\nWhat is Safeguarding?\nTypes of abuse / recognising the signs.\nPassing on information.\nSignposting and Support in Camden.\n\nWho should attend: Suitable for all those with little or no child safeguarding knowledge or experience; organisations\, groups\, volunteers or members of the community delivering services to under 25’s in Camden. \nNotes for members: Places for this session are extremely limited and open to VAC members and voluntary organisations / groups delivering services in Camden only. \nAll ticket registrations will be verified\, and non-attendees may be restricted from attending future VAC training and events. \nIf you are not a member of VAC and would like to find out more about our membership offer\, please click here: https://vac.org.uk/get-involved/membership/ \nAll attendees will be asked to complete a short evaluation at the end of the session\, where on completion all workshop slides / recordings will be provided. \nNotes for attendees:\n\nThis sessions will be held in person and is funded by Camden Safeguarding Children’s Partnership (CSCP) https://cscp.org.uk/\nIn the event that you are unable to attend\, VAC kindly ask that you pass your free ticket onto another member of your organisation or a volunteer who can attend in your place.\nAlternatively\, please email Ricky Singh at rsingh@vac.org.uk so your place can be offered to another learner.\n\nFor further information or questions regarding suitability for new learners\, please email our Community Safeguarding Lead – Dianne Carlton Ogunyemi on: dogunyemi@vac.org.uk \nBook Here for free\nhttps://buytickets.at/voluntaryactioncamden/1982848
