DESCRIPTION:Introduction to Safeguarding: Protecting Children in the Community.\nTuesday 24th June: 10am – 12.30pm\nCrowndale Centre\, 218 Eversholt Street\, NW1 1BD\nSafeguarding is everyone’s responsibility\, regardless of your job role\, how frequently you work with children\, or how often you interact with young people and their families. \nIf you work\, support or volunteer for an organisations or group delivering services to children\, young people or their families in Camden; you have a vital part to play in keeping them safe. \nThis face-to-face session provides learners with essential knowledge and skills needed to effectively safeguarding children and young people. \nDesigned for volunteers\, new starters and those with no previous safeguarding training; this course introduces the four types of abuse\, how to recognise the signs\, and what to do if you see or hear something that isn’t right. \nWho Should Take This Course?\nSuitable for anyone requiring the equivalent of a Level 1 safeguarding introduction; including volunteers\, play and support workers\, coaches\, mentors\, and new starters supporting voluntary organisations. \nLearners who complete the full training session will receive an attendance certificate valid for two years. \nThe workshop will cover the following aspects of safeguarding: \n\nWhat is Safeguarding and the different types of abuse.\nAwareness of current issues.\nMyth busting and social care.\nSafeguarding in practice: Recording and reporting.\nSignposting\, early help and support.\n\nNotes for learners\nPlaces for this session are externally funded and open to VAC members\, voluntary organisations / groups delivering services to under 18’s in Camden only. \nAll ticket registrations will be verified\, and non-attendees may be restricted from attending future VAC training and events. \n\nIf you are not a member of VAC and would like to find out more about our membership offer\, please click here: https://vac.org.uk/get-involved/membership/\nFor further information on safeguarding training visit Camden’s Safeguarding Children’s Partnership here: https://cscp.org.uk/training/calendar-of-events/\nAll attendees will be asked to complete a short evaluation at the end of the session; where on completion all workshop slides will be provided.\nFor more information please contact: Dianne Carlton-Ogunyemi\, our Community Partnership Lead to find out more.
