DESCRIPTION:Calling all Camden Trustees and CEOs\nAND ALL WHO WANT TO LEARN MORE ABOUT BEING A TRUSTEE AND GOOD GOVERNANCE:\nWe at VAC are excited to provide a space to connect\, learn\, and share  at the next online meeting on 3rd of November 2025. \nThis is a great opportunity to network and to meet our esteemed guest speaker\, the CEO of DSC Debra Allcock Tyler. \n  \nDebra Alcock Tyler has worked in the charitable and voluntary sector for nearly 40 years; she has served as a trustee of several charities including being the co-founder of the Small Charities Coalition and was its first Chair. She served on the Charity Commission’s SORP committee for over 7 years and is an internationally published author of several books on management and leadership including It’s a Battle on the Board. \n  \nWe’re very pleased that Debra has agreed to come and speak at our upcoming CEO and Trustees Network Meeting on Monday 3rd November\, 12:00 – 13:00. \n  \nWe would like to offer a free copy of Debra’s book\, It’s a Battle on the Board\, to 15 attendees drawn at random from all who complete and return  a survey about this event upon its completion. \n  \nIf you are a Trustee or a CEO in Camden and wish to join the Networks and to get the link to the online Networks meeting on 3rd of November – 12:00 to 13:00 –  please email Vania at vguetova@vac.org.uk or Ricky at rsingh@vac.org.uk. \n

DESCRIPTION:Camden Carers Service: Who cares for the carer?\nWednesday 12th November 2025: 10am – 12.00pm\nFace-to-face: Crowndale Centre\, 218 Eversholt St\, NW1 1BD\nHave you ever wondered who cares for the carer? \nDo they know they are a carer\, and as a carer; have rights and are entitled to support? \nIf you engage with individuals who are looking after a friend or family member who couldn’t manage without their support\, this person is providing an unpaid care service. \nThis could be because the person has a health condition\, mental health condition\, disability or is frail. \nMany carers experience wide ranging health inequalities\, and at the same time don’t get the support they are legally entitled to. \nAt Camden Carers\, our mission is to provide tailored support to those who spend their time caring\, unpaid\, for others. \nThis face-to-face session will give attendees an opportunity to: \n\n      Learn more about the support services on offer at Camden Carers .\n      How best to identify carers in need of support.\n      How to refer carers to the Camden Carers service.\n      How to get carers the support they need\, including a new Employment Service.\n\nThe session will also provide attendees with an opportunity to hear from VAC’s Camden Care Navigation and Social Prescribing service\, which connect residents with community-based activities and social opportunities that support their health and well-being. \nWho should attend: All organisations\, groups\, volunteers or members of the community working in a health or a care setting\, as well as those engaging with unpaid carers or individuals with care needs. \nNotes for members: \n\nPlaces for this session are extremely limited and open to VAC members and voluntary organisations / groups delivering services in Camden only.\nAll ticket registrations will be verified\, and non-attendees may be restricted from attending future VAC training and events.\nIf you are not a member of VAC and would like to find out more about our membership offer\, please click here: https://vac.org.uk/get-involved/membership/\nAll attendees will be asked to complete a short evaluation at the end of the session; where on completion all workshop slides / recordings will be provided.\n\nNotes for attendees: \n\nThis sessions will be held in person.\nIn the event that you are unable to attend\, VAC kindly ask that you pass your free ticket onto another member of your organisation or a volunteer who can attend in your place.\n\nFor more information please contact: Elion Grajcevci at Elion@camdencarers.org.uk \nIn partnership with Camden Carers. \nhttps://www.camdencs.org.uk/ \nBook here:\nhttps://buytickets.at/voluntaryactioncamden/1887051

DESCRIPTION:Wednesday 19th November: 10am – 12.00pm.
