Safeguarding Introduction: Protecting Children in the Community

Protecting Children in the Community is an introductory course designed for all those who work both directly and indirectly with organisations / groups delivering services to children, young people and their families in Camden. This virtual training session is free and open and to all those who have had little or no safeguarding training before.
Who Should Take This Course?
Suitable for anyone requiring the equivalent of a Level 2 basic safeguarding introduction, including volunteers, play workers, coaches and new starters who have never had child protection training or safeguarding essentials training before.
The workshop will cover the following essential aspects of safeguarding:
An introduction to the UK legislation, guidance, policies and procedures for safeguarding and child protection.
An understanding of the different types of child abuse and the ways in which children can be harmed.
The importance of partnership work and passing on information
Awareness of current issues / Understanding emerging forms of abuse.
Your role and responsibilities for safeguarding and child protection
Recognising and responding to concerns appropriately.
Safeguarding and Early Help in Camden, thresholds and where to go for support.
Please note: All attendees will be asked to complete a short assessment before and after training.
