Virtual: Understanding Gaming and Gambling Harms – Health and Social Care Focus.

Tuesday 17th September – 9.30am – 12.30pm

(City & Guilds Accredited Certification)

Could you talk to a young person if you were worried about their gaming?

Do you know what might influence a young person to gamble?

Ygam are working with Voluntary Action Camden to offer a fully funded workshop designed for GPs, nurses, psychologists, counsellors, mental health and safeguarding practitioners, social prescribers, and anyone working with young people in a healthcare setting.

Join us to develop your understanding of gaming and gambling harms, enabling you to have conversations with the children and families you work with.

The workshop will cover:

  • Why children and young people might game and/or gamble.
  • The blurred lines between gaming and gambling.
  • The potential risks of gaming and gambling and the associated harms.
  • How to spot the signs of harm and what support and signposting options are available.

On completion you will receive a City & Guilds Certificate and Digital Credential, and have access to over 1000 resources, including 1:1 and small group work activities which you can download and use in your practice.

If you are unsure about your suitability for this session and would like to find out more, please email JoAnn Sproule at JoAnnSproule@ygam.org
