SUPPORT ON Safeguarding Children

If you are an organisation, group or start-up with aims to deliver services to under 18’s in Camden, we can help. We have a dedicated Safeguarding Lead who can support you with all your safeguarding needs and arrangements.

We offer a range of support to help you keep on top of all your safeguarding commitments. Here are some of the areas we can help you with:

  • Safer recruitment and support for the training and recruiting of new / existing volunteers.
  • Advice and guidance on writing polices, risk assessments and child protection procedures.
  • Safeguarding information and updates through training, workshops and consultation: provided virtually or in person.
  • Best Practice Guidance for organisations or groups that deliver services such as football, exercise and fitness, creative arts and education sessions, stay and play for under 5’s and Early Years; all faith services such as Sunday School, Bible classes, Islamic and Arabic Classes.
  • Advice and guidance on making the best use of digital media to raise awareness; through webpages, podcasting, blogging and tweeting related information.
  • Support from VAC Networks, including Camden Safeguarding Children Partnership (CSCP) and Camden’s Early Help Service.
  • Signposting & Support to learn more about Networks in your local neighbourhood, including our Care Navigation, Social Prescribing, Health Inequalities and Metal Health projects.

How to get support from VAC

Simply send us an email or give us call and  tell us a little about the type of services / activities you currently / aim to deliver and what safeguarding support you are looking for. We provide a personal consultation with our Project Lead, Dianne who will be able to provide 1:1 advice, or sign you up to one of our safeguarding training courses. In response to the Covid-19 pandemic and the various queries being received from Camden’s diverse and extensive BME communities, organisations and faith groups, Voluntary Action Camden’s Community Safeguarding Partnership introduced this series of podcasts as an extension to the Protecting Children In The Community training programme.
