An Introduction to Managing Your Finances (for voluntary and community organisations and groups).

Are you managing money on behalf of a community group, voluntary organisation, or residents’ association? 

All voluntary organisations, including supplementary education settings, Tenant Resident Associations (TRAs), and community groups who handle money; need careful financial management to ensure accountability and sustainability.

In these challenging times, having strategies for the long-term survival and growth of your organisation is essential. So, join us for this introductory managing money course, which aims to cover the finance essentials.

At the end of the session learners will gain an understanding of:

  • Managing money and Value for Money
  • Legal mismanagement and public funds.
  • Keeping accurate financial records.
  • Budgeting & cashflow
  • Monitoring costs.

Suitable for voluntary sector staff, volunteers and those wishing to build on foundational understanding of financial management and budgeting.

Important note for learners:

Places for this session are externally funded and therefore extremely limited.

VAC therefore request that only one member of an organisation is permitted to attend to maximise course availability.

All training from VAC is open to members and voluntary organisations / groups delivering services in Camden only.

Non-attendance / No shows:

VAC kindly ask that attendees only book if they are able to attend in person on the day.

If you are unable to attend, please arrange for a volunteer or another member of your organisation to attend in your place.

Alternatively email Ricky Singh at: rsingh@vac.org.uk  so your place can be offered to another learner on our waiting list.

All ticket registrations will be verified and VAC reserve the right to charge a £25 no-show penalty fee to member organisations for non-attendance.

Please note: All attendees will be asked to complete a short assessment after training.
