Workshop on Budgeting and Financial Planning
As part of our training particularly aimed at new groups in the Camden area, and at anyone who is looking to gain skills for managing the finances of their organisation, we are running a day-long workshop on budgeting and financial planning. The session includes in-depth training on understanding the key principles of financial planning, as well as tools for developing business plans, funding applications and projections for major projects. If you’re responsible for the finances of your organisation or you’d just like to learn more about these areas, we strongly recommend you sign up for the workshop on April 30th. If you’re interested, you can find out more information here.

Fewer donors are giving more money, report finds
The Charity Aid Foundation’s annual UK Giving report has just been released, and has revealed that the total amount donated to charities is up from the previous year, but from fewer people. The report also gives a geographical picture of charitable giving, and includes some interesting findings about the data behind donations in the UK.

Fundraising Regulator badge inspires trust in donors
The Fundraising Regulator has carried out research into how people view their badge, which can be displayed by registered organisations to show they honor the Code of Fundraising Practice. The Regulator’s annual report surveyed donors, and found that 73% of them would be more confident supporting a charity displaying the badge.

One in six give to charities who have been criticised
New research from Enthuse has found that one in six people donate to charities after they have been criticised, for example in traditional or social media. The same percentage give money to show solidarity with a cause. You can find the research here, which includes insight into other giving habits and people’s perception on political parties in relation to charitable causes.
