NEW! Virtual Workshop: Safeguarding and Social Media – Polarising, misinformation, and online predators.
Thursday 30th November, 10am – 11.30am
With its volume, reach and speed, social media can encourage millions of users to adopt extreme political or social positions. In this workshop, we will look at the impacts of online groups, tribes, and communities; how they polarise for profit, and at times validate dangerous behaviour.
With a focus on grooming, algorithms and the spread of disinformation that promotes division among communities, we will explore the role of safeguarding online in our increasingly digitalised world.
