Highlights

This week we spotlight VAC’s new JustGiving page, which provides a new way for donors to support our work in the Camden community.

We also have information on a range of other local events and opportunities from around the Camden area.

Since 1907, Voluntary Action Camden has supported the voluntary sector in the London Borough of Camden. We do this by sharing information, fostering collaboration and providing practical expertise to both established and new voluntary organisations. We serve as a connection between the sector and decision-making bodies like the local Council and funders and work to promote a vibrant local community for all who live or work in the borough.

Our new JustGiving page is now live. This page provides a new way for VAC to receive donations towards our work in the Camden community.

We understand that not everyone has the capacity to donate during these difficult times. If you are able to, and would like to make a donation to VAC, please click here

VAC Cost-of-Living Forum
Tuesday 29th November, Online: 11am – 1:15pm

Before we have begun to recover from the impact of the pandemic, the voluntary and community sector is faced with another crisis that will have even more profound and damaging effects.
The cost-of-living crisis threatens the continued resilience of the VCS sector, and VAC is calling for cross-sector unity and resistance to the much-anticipated reduction in public spending.

In October, VAC launched a member survey to better understand how the crisis is impacting the VCS, how community organisations are responding, and what further support the sector needs to tackle this new challenge.

Following a review of the survey results, VAC is holding a forum discussion with guest speakers from the sector to share the results of the survey, explore the challenges the VCS is facing and begin to identify practical and reliable solutions.

Cost of Living Crisis Survey to Camden Voluntary Sector Groups

The Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) provides essential support for those in need, but it also finds itself under enormous pressure as a result of the current cost-of-living crisis.

We have put together a short survey to help understand how your organisation is responding to the cost of living crisis, the ongoing and evolving impact and what further support you need to tackle this new challenge.

This week we spotlight the Cost-of-Living Crisis Joint Statement, published by VAC, C4 and VCC, which urgently calls for targeted government financial support for the Camden VCS sector.

We also have information on a range of local events and opportunities from around the Camden area.

Camden Infrastructure Alliance: Cost-of-Living Crisis Joint Statement

The Camden Infrastructure Alliance – Voluntary Action Camden, C4 and Volunteer Centre Camden – have published a joint statement urgently calling for targeted financial government support for the Voluntary and Community Sector in the face of the cost-of-living crisis.

We are deeply concerned about the additional pressures of a cold winter on Camden’s already overstretched community services.

To read the full statement, please click here

Cost of Living Crisis Survey to Camden Voluntary Sector Groups

The Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) provides essential support for those in need, but it also finds itself under enormous pressure as a result of the current cost-of-living crisis.

We are deeply concerned for the continued resilience of our sector and are calling for cross-sector unity and resistance to the much-anticipated reduction in public spending.

We have put together a short survey to help understand how your organisation is responding to the cost of living crisis, the ongoing and evolving impact and what further support you need to tackle this new challenge.
The results of this survey will inform plans to provide additional support to the sector.
The survey shouldn’t take longer than 10 minutes and is available here

Highlights

This week we spotlight the third of our three main values – ‘influence’, whereby we amplify the voices of the Camden VCS to strategic stakeholders to help empower local organisations achieve their aims.

We also have information on a range of local events and opportunities from around the Camden area.

VAC Values: Develop, Connect and Influence

Influence.
This less well-known area of VAC’s work involves presenting a Camden Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) voice at a strategic level.

This includes raising awareness about what the sector can offer, connecting the sector with strategic stakeholders, having sector influence in borough policy and strategy, ensuring that the sector is not excluded from decision-making process, or overlooked as a delivery partner in the provision of community-based services and projects that meet the needs of local people.

We use our voice to amplify yours…
