The Hampstead Wells and Campden Trust New grant opportunity for debt advice in North Camden
The Trust has decided to provide some help to local residents struggling with debt and especially therefore to relieve some of the consequences of debt, including mental health problems and eviction.
Around £50,000 per annum is to be allocated by the Trustees of The Hampstead Wells and Campden Trust for a debt advice service for up to three years. We would hope to see this providing a full-time service, especially focussing on Kilburn and West Hampstead, and offering thorough, specialist, face-to-face debt advice, to enable individuals and families to prioritise and tackle their debts.
In responding to this call for proposal we would expect an applicant organisation to offer evidence of solid experience in this work, a knowledge of the area, a short description of the nature of the support offered to people in debt, an idea of where the service would be based, and a brief note on how impact would be evidenced:
Send an outline of the project and applicant organisation, on one side of A4 only, to reach us for shortlisting by 20 October 2017. Send this to grant@hwct.org.uk.
For an informal discussion please contact Sheila Taylor, Director & Clerk to the Trustees on 020 7435 1570. Further details about the work of The Hampstead Wells and Campden Trust, you can visit the website on www.hwct.org.uk.

Richard Reeve’s Foundation ‘Earn while you Learn’ programme
The Richard Reeve’s Foundation is inviting applications under its new ‘Earn while you Learn’ programme which aims to stimulate and support increased opportunities for young people to ’earn while they learn’, as a core strategy for enhancing their employability and strengthening progression pathways.
Grant proposals are invited for programmes of work that will result in increased opportunities for young people, aged 16-24, in Camden, Islington and the City of London, to ’earn while they learn’, engaging in meaningful work through part-time jobs, paid work experience or traineeships, internships, and / or apprenticeships. Proposals must be for work that fills a clear gap in existing provision locally and that engages employers to offer new and increased opportunities for paid work to young people. These opportunities should be designed to ensure valuable learning and enhanced employability of the young people accessing them, with support for participants to recognise the skills and benefits they have gained, and where, appropriate, to progress on to fulfilling, longer-term employment.
Grant funding is available for up to a three year period, with awards likely to range from £30,000 up to £120,000 for the very strongest proposals.
The full programme guidelines and applications are available here. The closing date for application is 13th November 2017

The deadline for applications is Monday 16 October 2017. The second round of funding will open 15 January 2018. Details here.
