Organisation support
VAC is the first port of call for anyone setting up a voluntary and community organisation in the London Borough of Camden. You’ll get tailored support, receive unrivalled local insight, and you’ll make connections from an approachable team.
We can help your voluntary organisation have a greater impact. We can assist with anything from ground-up support, day-to-day management and bigger-picture strategic vision.
We take an asset-based approach, building on the different strengths of each group we work with in order to maximise potential and to help people and organisations grow sustainably.
Our services
Setting up a new group
Starting a new organisation requires commitment and planning, even if it’s just a small informal group. We provide expert help and advice and tailored 1-1 support to help you navigate though all the hurdles of setting up a project, service or group for the first time.
Group development
We can help with a range of organisational development issues to help your organisation grow and thrive. If you need help with business planning, employment and HR, financial sustainability, networking and partnership development (and much more!), get in touch.
Fundraising
We provide expert advice and support with accessing funding. We can help you search the latest funding opportunities, support you through the bid-writing process, and think about your broader fundraising and income generation strategy. We also help develop consortia to enable smaller groups to bid together for funds and contracts.
Safeguarding
We provide safeguarding support and guidance for voluntary groups and organisations working with vulnerable adults and children in Camden. Find out how we can help you stay informed and compliant with important safeguarding policies effecting your service users.
PEER SUPPORT
We help setup peer support groups and peer mentoring opportunities for people in the community to connect with others from the same cultural backgrounds with similar experiences. Our supportive networks are warm and encouraging spaces (and free to access), where you can connect with like minded people, ask questions in a safe space, learn and share experiences, and generally feel more confident in the community.
Social prescribing
We support social prescribing in Camden, which involves signposting residents with health and well-being issues to different service providers and community based activities. This holistic approach to problem-solving helps ensure all the support needs of the resident are met, whether that’s within a clinical or non-clinical setting.
Training and events
We provide comprehensive training programmes for the voluntary and community groups and organisations in Camden. We also run regular seminars on topical policy issues and themes, and host regular events aimed at the specific needs of the local community.
Volunteering
We provide volunteering opportunities to improve skills while making a positive contribution to the community and voluntary sector in Camden. We are also keen take on volunteers with professional expertise who can offer their time, skills and experience in specialised areas of work.
Guides and resources
Our jargon free, expert guides provide introductions to the most important areas of knowledge in the voluntary sector, written to help those setting up a voluntary organisation for the first time.
