VAC is seeking a new Chair to lead the organisation through a significant time of change in support of the borough’s voluntary and community sector as it emerges from, and continues to manage, the impact of the pandemic on the diverse communities we serve.
VAC is the strategic infrastructure organisation for the sector enabling it to influence policy, connect for collaborative strength and develop capacity.
The new VAC Chair will come in at a pivotal moment for the organisation as we embark on a new three-year strategy with a refreshed Board of Trustees, a growing membership and a highly committed staff and volunteer team. This is a stimulating opportunity for a candidate with voluntary sector leadership experience and an enthusiasm for Camden to lead VAC into this next key phase of its development.

The primary purpose of your role is to develop and implement the marketing & communications strategy for VAC, leading our communications such as our high-profile weekly newsletter, social media and web content. You will need to work with all staff as well as a range of external stakeholders and partners. Camden Mind Ventures runs a busy charity shop located in the heart of Camden Town on behalf of Mind in Camden, a mental health charity.
The aim of the shop is to generate vital funds to continue the work of the charity which supports people of all ages who have substantial mental health issues.
We need a commercially aware manager with a passion for maximising income for the charity to take responsibility for managing the shop to ensure it meets its aim, ideally with experience of charity shops, though this is not essential.
