Pulse Survey – Your Help Needed

The new VCS Emergencies Partnership is a new partnership between local VCS organisations (via the CVS network – VAC’s sister organisations) and national charities.  It aims to check the pulse of the sector weekly; improve collaboration between national and local organisation and bring in additional resources to local areas in exceptional situations.
The Pulse Survey is a weekly survey covering a range of issues.  The survey wants to know whether local people in need are receiving the support they need and asks for an estimate of demand in the next fortnight.
The areas covered are:

  • Food and Nutrition (food assistance)
  • Healthcare (patient transport, prescription access)
  • Mental Health (support, counselling)
  • Shelter and Accommodation (homeless accommodation, shelters)
  • Protection (domestic violence support lines, refuges)
  • Technology, Connectivity, Communications (internet access, skills)
  • Education and Training (employment support, career advice)
  • Hardship (access to state and non-state financial support)
  • Utilities (ability to pay for gas, electricity, phone)
  • Vulnerable populations

Please take a look at the survey (page 10 onwards) and for the areas that you have knowledge about, let us know how we should respond.  It will be particularly important to highlight any sudden changes.
